We imitate the Buddha’s wisdom in the invisible world when we are near that invisible wisdom which emanates from a person who has attained enlightenment. For that reason, even though Shakyamuni Buddha was a prince, even though He had the supreme authority in that country, even though His prestige had spreaded to all directions, He still begged for alms, using that as a means to enlighten the poor, the suffering, those who had little merit and affinity, those who could not believe the Dharma right away when they heard it, those who could not go to the Buddha to learn the Tao. So the Buddha had to go there, using the invisible, boundless power of the Buddha to influence the invisible wisdom, the Buddha Nature of the opposite person. […]
What I mean is, there are many different worlds, just like on our Earth, there are many different countries. There are civilized countries, backward countries, free countries. There are those who practice spiritually because they are not satisfied with the spiritual level of this world. They want to have a higher level, better wisdom, greater miracles. Those who practiced spiritually and went to the Buddha's realms, for example, Amitabha Buddha Land, they have great miraculous power. They do not need cars to travel. They do not have to go to the airport to buy air tickets, waiting for a long time and then the plane breaks down or has an engine problem like my plane this morning. So you saw it already, spiritual practitioners are those who want to find a different system. That’s all. It’s that simple, because on this Earth, we have so many systems, so many standards, so many levels, much less in the universe. Therefore, there are a lot of differences regarding the mentality, thoughts, magical power.
But the level of the spiritual practitioners is very different. If we talk to them for some time, we would see the difference. Sometimes, they just say one or two sentences, we already see the difference. Why? Because we already have wisdom. But if we listen for a long time but still don’t understand, then we know we don’t have our wisdom yet. For example, a university professor talks to a primary school student. Even though that primary school student attained the highest score in his school, he wouldn’t be able to understand what the university professor is saying, or wouldn’t be able to understand a university student who has the lowest score in college, much less the professor. Therefore, the spiritual practitioners, for example, my disciples, also have their shortcomings, because they are still new on the path. Even if they have practiced for a long time, but their human personality does not change, but we know to use our personality at the right time. Sometimes, one’s personality is different than another’s. So, it is hard to avoid rubbing against each other. Although they haven’t yet practiced properly, they are still better than those who do not practice spiritually. At least, they are vegan, they meditate, keep the precepts, and they have certain understanding that the non-practitioners do not have. Even though their understanding is not complete, but still better than the non-practitioners.
