Continuing from the interfaith prayer gathering for the victims of the Laguna Beach wildfire, let us now revisit a memorable meeting between Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) and Mr. Thomas One Wolf, a respected medicine man of the Suquamish First Nation. At the gathering, Mr. One Wolf immediately recognized something special in Master and offered Her a feather, which was his personal emblem, a symbol of high honor according to his nation’s tradition. Master gracefully placed the feather in Her hair, acknowledging its significance. The next day, November 7, 1993, Mr. One Wolf invited Master and Her disciples to his home. Everyone was in high spirits as they enjoyed the lighthearted conversation between Mr. One Wolf and Master. In a particularly reflective moment, he spoke about the reverence Native Americans have for enlightened Masters, saying,These are what Masters are to the Indian. […] This is good that the whole world can hear, that the Dragon from the East (Supreme Master Ching Hai) meets the Eagle from the West. And they come together, and they say, “I love you.” Then that is the world message. The Masters will teach you how to obtain peace of heart, harmony and balance. […]The Masters has got the biggest job on Mother (Earth). […] I will be doing a very special ceremony for the Master and all of you that walk here and honor Her. […] And I hope and pray that this will make a resounding bell ring of peace that will strike the times. Because truly it’s the thunder voice that will carry the message.Master also expressed Her admiration for the Native American traditions, saying,That’s very, very special. The [American] Indian people, they have preserved this kind of sacred knowledge since thousands of years. And they pass it on one generation after another. And it’s never diluted or polluted by civilization, so-called civilization that we have now. So, their tradition is one of the oldest, it’s the most preserved. (Purest.) […] Most sacred. And I’m very happy to get to know the Chief. Those present felt incredibly fortunate to witness such a profound exchange.During the visit, Master presented Mr. One Wolf with Her personal parasol and a photograph of Herself in Thai royal attire, which he placed respectfully on his mantelpiece beside a wooden eagle, a symbol of his faith. She also gifted him a Celestial Lamp called "Complete Satisfaction," symbolizing Her wishes for his noble desires and aspirations to be fulfilled. They also shared music, with Mr. One Wolf playing his own heartfelt composition on the guitar, while Master responded with Her own uplifting songs, creating a warm and elevated atmosphere.Thomas One Wolf: Mother Earth, oh, we honor You.
