Adding lemon juice or a slice of lemon into your tea and refrigerating it can increase the beverage’s antioxidant activity. This was the finding from a recent study that investigated the effect lemon juice had on mate tea, also known as yerba maté. Many people stated they preferred drinking tea prepared this way instead of sipping it plain. Lemon juice will not only enhance the tea's antioxidant availability, but also add Vitamin C to your diet!
