In today’s news, research finds gigantic global ice loss from climate change over less than 30-year period, Zambia receives funding to empower impoverished girls and women, Singaporean scientists utilize orange peels to recycle batteries, reusable pathogen-destroying facemask developed in Switzerland, police officer rescues wheelchair-bound man from train in United States, vegan seafood product receives innovation recognition and two sisters and their dog companions help reseed forests in Chile.

Study finds “staggering” ice loss due to global warming.

Scientists at the UK-based University College of London, University of Leeds and University of Edinburgh have concluded from comprehensive satellite surveys of the planet’s ice sheets, mountains and glaciers that climate change caused 28 trillion metric tons of ice loss between 1994 and 2017. The amount lost is equivalent to a 100-meter thick sheet of ice covering the UK. The review, published in the journal “Cryosphere Discussions,” states that a 1-meter sea-level rise could occur from the melting by the century's end. Additionally, planetary heating is being amplified because less ice reduces the Earth’s ability to reflect solar radiation into space, and the exposed soil and ice-free seas absorb more heat. Our appreciation, UK researchers, for this vital information. We pray that humanity takes immediate action to cool our Earth home using the low-emissions vegan diet, in Divine wisdom.

World Bank supports indigent women and girls in Zambia.

The World Bank has provided US$142 million to bolster the ongoing Girls Education and Women’s Empowerment (GEWEL) project in Zambia, with the Swedish International Development Association and the United Kingdom Department for International Development, both government agencies, jointly providing an additional US$35 million grant. The initiative has assisted over 28,000 girls from disadvantaged households by paying their secondary school expenses, and enabled 75,000 women in need to develop ways of earning a livelihood. GEWEL currently provides money to 245,000 underprivileged beneficiaries through Zambia’s Social Cash Transfer Program. Many thanks, the World Bank, Sweden and the United Kingdom, a Shining World Wise Leadership Award and a Shining World Leadership Awards for Animal Protection and Kindness laureate, for your important aid to vulnerable Zambian girls and women. May your assistance bring many positive changes to the fine people of Zambia, in God’s grace.

Up next, Singaporean scientists utilize orange peels to recycle batteries. We pause for a moment to appreciate the linguists who study how human language works and changes over time. We’ll be right back with more admirable news on Supreme Master Television.

Hallo, adventurous viewers, I am Sebastian the vegan Solomon Island Leaf Frog. Would you like to experience unbounded love? Choose to be vegan and cherish all beings! I have a tip to help decrease the risk of heat-related illnesses during hot weather. In some cases, electric fans can make your body think its internal temperature is cooler than it is, which can be detrimental, especially to the elderly. Per the New York State’s Department of Health in the United States, electric fans should only be used when the indoor air temperature is 35 degrees Celsius or less. Above this point, a fan’s air currents may cause one’s body to gain heat, rather than lose it. Instead, it is recommended to take a cool shower or bath or use the air conditioner for relief from high temperatures. Thank you for your attention, and love you a lot for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all of us humans and all co-inhabitants alike. Now, the worldwide weather.

Discarded fruit peels used to recycle batteries.

Scientists at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University have developed a way to use orange peels to harvest heavy metals from old lithium-ion batteries and create new ones. The unique method draws on waste from both the food and electronics industries in an approach that maximizes limited resources while also promoting a zero-waste economy. Orange peels were dried in an oven, then made into a powder to which citric acid was added. During the removal process, the sugars produced from the peels’ cellulose were found to promote the recovery of approximately 90% of the cobalt, lithium, nickel and manganese in the spent batteries. In addition, the solid residues generated with the method were found to be non-toxic. Great work, Nanyang Technological University scientists! Your discovery promotes solutions that improve our lives while caring for our precious earthly home, in Heaven’s benevolence.

Swiss researchers develop reusable antiviral and antibacterial mask.

Scientists from Switzerland’s École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) have created a filter material for face masks and ventilation systems that can cleanse itself of pathogens. The product is made from titanium oxide nanowires and cleaned by UV light that produces oxidizing agents, such as hydrogen peroxide, which disable bacteria and viruses. It is estimated that a mask made with the substance could be sterilized and reused around a thousand times. Swiss-based clean-tech start-up Swoxid is working towards commercializing the technology, and its lab alone could produce enough material to manufacture 80,000 masks monthly. Fantastic news, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and Swoxid, on your ingenious filter material that will help prevent waste and enhance people’s safety. May your innovation soon be available globally as we take all measures possible to protect ourselves and others' health, in the Providence's mercy.

Policewoman saves wheelchair-bound man from speeding train.

Officer Erika Urrea who serves the city of Lodi, California, United States, rescued a 66-year-old man from an approaching train when his wheelchair became immobilized on the train tracks. Seeing that the railroad crossing arm was lowering and a train headed towards the gentleman, Officer Urrea left her patrol car, ran to the man, unbuckled him from his wheelchair, and pulled him to safety just as the train raced by. The man, who suffered a leg injury, was transported to a local hospital. With heartfelt appreciation, we thank you, Officer Erika Urrea, for your courageous actions. We are so happy the man was rescued and pray for his quick recovery. In Heaven’s loving guidance, may this selfless, noble deed inspire people to help one another in these challenging times. Supreme Master Ching Hai: “Touchingly present the Shining World Heroine Award to Officer Erika Urrea, for your quick thinking and selfless action, with all love, high esteem and heartfelt gratitude. May Heavens forever watch over and protect you, in Divine Grace.”

Coming up, vegan seafood product receives innovation recognition. We’ll spend some time now to be grateful for the chance to wake up one more day and hopefully make a small contribution to the world. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more uplifting news. Welcome back to Noteworthy News - Gratifying News for a Happier World.

Plant-based shrimp product wins award.

United States-headquartered, family-owned The Plant Based Seafood Co. recently won Prepared Foods' Magazine Spirit of Innovation Awards - Most Disruptive Product of 2020 for its Mind Blown Coconut Shrimp. The unique item replicates the taste experience people are accustomed to with animal-based shrimp, but is made from Konjac powder and other vegan ingredients. Originally, The Plant Based Seafood Co.’s owners ran a seafood business, but after witnessing industry practices that are “hiding so many secrets from consumers and devastating oceans, communities and lives,” they decided to make a change. Our hats off, The Plant Based Seafood Co. for your well-deserved prize and bettering our world with the benevolent vegan way. May your company continue to innovate and shine with more tasty vegan seafood offerings, in Divine splendor.

Two sisters and dog companions help to reseed Chilean forests.

For the past three years, sisters Francisca and Constanza Torres, along with their three border collie companions, six-year-old Das and her two daughters, Olivia and Summer, have been helping to reseed forests in the El Maule region of central Chile that were burned during wildfires in 2017. Special lightweight backpacks with holes in the bottom are attached to the dogs and filled with tree seeds. When the three diligent canines run, the seeds are released. In a day, the four-legged planters can cover up to 29 kilometers and disperse 9 kilograms of seed as they run free through the land. Thank you, Francisca and Constanza Torres and precious Das, Olivia and Summer, for helping to regrow the beautiful woodlands of Chile. May the seeds you spread sprout with vigor as the forests become lush and fertile once again, in Celestial abundance.

Now, relax and laugh with us, here comes an original joke by our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai, entitled “Free of Charge.”

Outside a dentist clinic, a sign read: “CHEAP DENTAL TREATMENT. Anesthesia free, pain free.” A man walked in happily. The dentist sat him comfortably on the chair: “Soo glad to find such a dentist like you, finally. Tell you the truth, I dread anesthesia, and needles of any kind.”

“Then we won’t use any.”

The man pointed one of his fingers in his mouth: “Here Doc: This tooth has been hurting me for quite a while, but I didn’t dare to go see any dentist. Please see what you can do.”

The dentist proceeded to check the tooth. “I am afraid that it must be extracted.”

“OK, Doc. But no anesthesia.”

“Sure thing!”

Then he began to pull the tooth. “Oww oww. Stop. It hurts terribly, can’t bear it! You have it written outside: ‘Anesthesia free, pain free’!!”

“Of course, we won’t charge for anesthesia nor the pain!”

And now we have a heartline from Yu-Fu in Taiwan, also known as Formosa:

I thank Master and Supreme Master Television for teaching us that animals help humans all the time. I have adopted an abused dog, and he often plays at home with his feet radiating light. He used to be my friend in Heaven, a flying white horse. He is gentle and pure. His whole body sends out the energy of love. Even when he is just sleeping nearby, I can feel the loving energy emanating from every pore of him. We all love Master deeply, till eternity. Yu-Fu from Taiwan (Formosa)

Virtuous Yu-Fu, We are wowed by your fascinating heartline. It must be very comforting to realize your original Heavenly connections to an animal friend. With humanity’s spiritual advancement, ever more people will know the higher dimensions and view this world with open and pure eyes, ears, and hearts. What a paradise it will be. May humankind wake up promptly from its deep slumber! We wish you many more magic moments with your angelic canine companion. May Heaven smile on you and all the sunny Taiwanese (Formosans), Supreme Master TV team

P.S. Master said: “Faithful Yu-Fu, I always love being around my dogs whenever I get the chance and the unconditional love they emit is beyond words! Wishing you and your dog friend many happy years ahead together. Please share shows and clips of animals from our TV, so others might also know more about our loving, benevolent animal friends in the wild and in the home. May you and endearing Taiwan (Formosa) always be in the favor of the Divine.”

We welcome your heartlines, stories and or cute, loving animal clips. Please send them via SupremeMasterTV.com/heartline
