Vegan Heroes - Father’s Day Celebration, Part 1 of 6

On June 16, 2019, the third Sunday of June, our Association members held a grand celebration for International Father’s Day, thanking all the fathers in the world in human and non-human forms. Our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously attended this event at the New Land Ashram in Taiwan, also known as Formosa. We will now present to you this uplifting celebration in our series of programs entitled “Vegan Heroes - Father’s Day Celebration.” Let’s start with Part 1. As the head of the family, father is the great tree protecting us from tough storms. Gratitude to father for his selfless love and sacrifice, we wish all fathers a Happy Father’s Day! Taoyuan Center, Formosa (Taiwan), is going to present the song “Devotion.” “The long road is devoted to the place far away, the rose is devoted to love. What can I devote to you, my love? The white clouds are devoted to the meadow, the rivers are devoted to the ocean. What can I devote to you, my friend? The white doves are devoted to the blue sky, the starlight is devoted to the long night. What can I devote to you, my child? The rain is devoted to the earth, the time is devoted to the seasons. What can I devote to you, my mom and dad?” Ladies and gentlemen, there are so many songs in this world, but those about fathers always bring the most wonderful and elevated emotion. Let us merge into the ocean wave of fatherly love through the song entitled “A Song for Beloved Father” performed by the fellow initiates from Âu Lạc. “Your hands once rocked my cradle with a lullaby. Your hands once helped me take my first steps. I can never forget the days of my childhood with you. Those wonderful dreams always have your images. I fear the day when you’re no longer in life. I fear the day when I no longer see your beloved face. I pray for time, I pray for time to drift slowly, so that I may always have you in life. The years passed swiftly. Many changes in the currents of life. Looking at my beloved father, now your hair has grayed. For those years you have raised me, many difficult sacrifices, with hope in your life, to see me live happily, to grow up as a good person. From the depth of my heart, I’m thankful for my life.”
