Welcome to Part Three – The Law of Karmic Retribution. Different religions may refer differently to karmic retribution, or cause and effect, but it is understood as a concept by all. We have heard of the sayings, “What goes around, comes around,” and “Like attracts like.” Positive actions bring favorable effects, while negative yields unfavorable results, also known as karmic retribution. While the principles of Divine Love and Grace are higher, and may be mercifully applied in the physical realms, karmic retribution is a law that cannot be ignored. The Holy Bible clearly teaches the concept of karma in the often-quoted verse, “As you sow, so shall you reap.” The verse continues, “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Even in ancient China thousands of years ago, people understood the wisdom of the enlightened Master Confucius, “Do not impose on others what you yourself do not desire.” Buddhism Surangama Sutra: “Ananda, if living beings in the six worlds of existence cease to kill, they will not be subject to the continual round of births and deaths… How then can those who practice great compassion feed on the flesh and blood of living beings?” Sikhism Sri Guru Granth Sahib: “The world eats dead carcasses, living by neglect and greed. Like a goblin, or a beast, they kill and eat the forbidden carcasses of meat. So control your urges, or else you will be seized by the Lord, and thrown into the tortures of hell.” Jainism Bhagavati Aradhana: “To kill any living being amounts to killing oneself. Compassion to others is compassion to one’s own self. Therefore one should avoid violence like poison and thorns (that cause pain).” Cao Đài-ism The Collection of Divine Messages: “If you kill any living being, you shall be punished; no one knows whether a living being may have been an Immortal or a Buddha reincarnating to Earth. As I have said, all life is Me. To destroy life is to attempt to destroy Me. And it is not easy to destroy Me. Teach that to human beings.” In an effort to halt the factory farms and meat-processing plants that kill billions of animals every year, Supreme Master Ching Hai has been speaking out in urgent messages for some time. She asks that all meat-related businesses cease their operations and switch to a more wholesome living. On February 22, 2020, Supreme Master Ching Hai specifically addressed livestock industry owners as well as the fishing, egg, milk, fur, laboratory testing, cosmetics and leather industries.
