In response to a question by a female reporter at a press conference who shared her fears of police presence on the streets, President Pezeshkian affirmed his commitment to protect women from harassment by the morality police. It was His Excellency’s first press conference since taking office in July and it showcased a more relaxed atmosphere, with some female journalists wearing loose head coverings— a notable shift from past events, which had required females to dress in full hijab. President Pezeshkian’s reformist stance ignites hope for a more fair-minded future. As the world watches, the spirit of change persists, signaling a potential path toward increased freedom and respect for women in Iran.

Iran is a recipient of four Shining World Leadership Awards for Good Governance, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, and a laureate of a Shining World Leadership Award for Compassion.

Many thanks, President Masoud Pezeshkian, for announcing the change in stance on policing of wearing of hijab. In the comforting Safety of Allah, may the gracious women of Iran be respected and honored as they lovingly contribute to a flourishing society.
