What’s startling is the number of abortions that are carried out worldwide each year. In 2023, the leading cause of death globally was abortions. This is more than the deaths from all health conditions combined, including infectious diseases and cancer. Approximately 73 million abortions were committed that year, and it was the fifth consecutive year that abortion was the highest cause of death. This number amounts to approximately 200,000 abortions per day.

We have become culturally accustomed to abortion, with governments and the medical industry supporting the widespread killing of unborn babies, rather than supporting and implementing other care models. Abortion centers also have business models that groom children to be future clients and set abortion quotas to receive funding, thus try to raise rather than decrease abortion numbers.

In addition to the shocking estimated financial cost of abortion in the US being at least US$6.9 trillion or 32 percent of the GDP in 2019, The Economic Cost of Abortion report also outlines these consequences: “If each abortion prevents maternal earnings from falling, all abortions in 2019 could save mothers $16.2 billion in earnings over the next six years. However, the JEC’s $6.9 trillion cost of abortion estimate far outweighs these projected earnings benefits.”

The implication is that the US government could easily divert funds into supporting mothers financially and have a major surplus of money left over. The money could also be used to promote a respectful cultural attitude for women who choose to keep their babies, and even fund adoption services that could be embraced by couples who are unable to have children themselves.

And whereas the messaging around abortion falsely promotes the procedure as a safe, quick, easy, and painless cure to a woman’s problems, Choice42 provides empowering and honest messaging such as in its “So, You’re Pregnant” video ad and conversations. “So, you’re pregnant. You didn’t plan this. The thing is, you’re already this baby’s mother. This child is already here in the world, living and growing inside you and what these people are suggesting to you is that you murder your own baby. You’re the only one who can protect this child. You! Choose your baby. You’ve got what it takes. And you won’t regret it!”
