Previously in this multipart series on Greg Johnson’s near-death experience, Greg described years of spiritual suffering, severe heart damage, and a day at a hidden canyon river when he says he began inching toward death. After moving through a dark path, meeting a being of Light, traveling through the stars, and reaching a council of beings, Greg says he walked through a door and met GOD in all HIS Glory.
After spending what he describes as at least an hour, maybe two, in GOD’s presence, Greg began to hear the river again. When Greg slowly opened his eyes, he saw GOD’s Light in everything around him and heard GOD’s Voice coming from everything alive. Then he waved his brother over. His brother sat beside him and tried to listen, but after 20 or 30 minutes, he still could not hear the sound and stood up to leave.
Well, the moment my brother went to stand up, my arm just went out and grabbed him by the wrist really fast and really hard. And I’m like, “OK, what’s going on?” And I was just observing everything. Remember, I didn’t want to think about anything. I’m just letting it happen. And I started squeezing his wrist pretty hard to the point where I thought I was going to break his arm. And I felt like I had infinite strength.
And then, that’s when he really turned, and he looked straight into my eyes, and I could feel like I could see right through him. I’ve never seen anything like that. I could see right through him. I could see his soul. I could see everything when we made that connection in the eyes. I spoke with a very intense voice, and I said, “Can’t you hear it?” Because he was trying to listen for this Sound, and he just couldn’t hear it. And the moment I said it, boom, the Sound just got huge, and my brother just froze because he heard it then. And his vision went dark, and he saw all his sin, he said. He goes, “I saw all my darkness, all my sin. It terrified me, and I knew the price was death.”
And he said that he literally tried to run. He went to go try to run, and his foot [tried] to get off the ground, and then GOD spoke. HE barely spoke, and HE said, “There is no place you can run to. There is no place you can hide. No rock you can crawl under.” And my brother just stood there. I knew that he was in utter panic. And he was just frozen. And then, that’s when I spoke to him, I said, “Brother, HE’s not going to hurt you, don’t be afraid.”
Both brothers sat together in the presence of GOD — hearing the same Sound and seeing the same vision of three mountains, with faces like old wise men visible in the mountains themselves, the snow forming their white beards. Greg eventually went into the river, swimming among the fish-people and moving with their rhythm. He says he performed what felt like his own private baptism in the current, and that he has never been the same since. As for the doubt he had carried, he says it was simply gone.
When I was before HIS presence, I literally felt all the doubt that was in my body, which I didn’t even know I had, even down to the depth of my bones; all my doubt went away. I’ve never doubted anymore. I know HE’s real. I’ve seen HIM. I’ve met HIM. I know HE’s real. I know HE’s waiting for us. I know that there’s a path. I know there’s a plan. And HE’s definitely real. And HE has certain rules, and we need to learn them.
HE is my Father in Heaven. We’re all HIS children. We’re all brothers and sisters here. Most of our suffering comes from our own choices. We are the ones causing most of this, and we hurt each other so much. It’s very sad, but HE does love us a great deal. When people do cruel things, I don’t think they understand what they’re doing, because they’re going to create a whole lot of pain for themselves. That’s the thing that they’re eventually going to encounter when they eventually leave this plane. So, I actually feel compassion for them. I feel bad for them, and I’m saddened by it rather than getting angry about it. I know that we’re going to grow out of it, and I know that we’re going to be going through tumultuous times, and that’s just the way it is. (Round Trip Death)
