On May 12, 2019, our Association members from around the globe gathered at the New Land Ashram in Taiwan, also known as Formosa, to celebrate Mother's Day in honor of all mothers in our world. The colorful entertainment program included singing, instrumental and dance performances, as well as uplifting poetry recitals.
Our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai graciously took precious time from Her meditation retreat to attend the occasion and delivered a moving speech on the sacred motherhood at the conclusion of the event.
To start the program, our Association members from Ãu Lạc will perform a lotus flower and lantern dance. The lotus flower and lantern dance is one of the unique arts of Huế Royal Court. It symbolizes the glorious and splendid golden time of the old in the Royal Court.
Next is an initiate performing a guzheng solo: "Overwhelming Heroic Spirit." This piece of music conveys a very distinct image. The fast-paced passages are vibrant and exciting, while the slow tempo passages are soothing and beautiful. It signifies the fearless spirit. It represents a mother's struggle with circumstance and life for her children and shows the normally unseen side of a mother - tenacity.
