Although it might sound like science fiction, technology is now being used to create what has been called “super food protein pulled out of thin air.” The idea reportedly began with space travel, with the original intention being to provide astronauts with a protein source during their missions. One of the key companies producing this innovative protein is Solar Foods, a Shining World Invention Award laureate, based in Finland. “We need to somehow remove animals from the food system.” Solar Food’s goal is to detach food production entirely from agriculture and for food production to no longer need vast amounts of space or resources.

Their solution is Solein. “The impact of Solein is about one-tenth compared to that of plant-based proteins and about one-hundredth, so 1% [compared to] animal products, specifically meat.” Dr. Vainikka, CEO and Co-Founder of Solar Foods, has stated that their fermenter produces the same amount of protein as 300 dairy cow-people or 50,000 hen-folk. It is amazing to know that in April 2024, Solar Foods launched the world’s first factory, growing food out of thin air. Solar Foods has partnered with Helsinki-based food supplier Fazer Group and offered a limited-edition snack bar in Singapore.

Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) continues to express the immediate need to stop raising and slaughtering innocent animal-individuals for food. “No matter how small, each species has a role to help balance our ecosystem, scientifically proven. And yet, consumption of both fish(-people) and animal(-people) flesh continue and are wreaking havoc on biodiversity around the globe. […] The answer to all of this is quite clear. Stop the (animal-people) meat consumption. Stop it yesterday. This is the way we need to go, and fast.”
