Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves. One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. Good people obtain favor from the Lord, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.
