In today’s news, European Union and United Nations give emergency aid to flood victims in Yemen. US study finds toxic lead in children’s clothing fabrics, Mexican researchers develop user-friendly robotic prosthetic arm, Cameroon turns waste into jobs through recycling initiative, boy alerts family to house fire and helps save lives in Texas, USA, Italy-based brand introduces its first vegan spread, and strangers fund helicopter rescue for lost dog-person in New Zealand.

Protecting the environment can begin at home by keeping a healthy garden! Therefore, I have a gardening tip for you. Activated carbon or charcoal can be added to the bottom of garden vessels to help keep water clean and roots healthy. If utilized properly, it absorbs odor and toxins, helps prevent root rot by decreasing bacterial accumulation and the risk of fungal growth due to anaerobic conditions. Charcoal also aids in water drainage – particularly in terrariums, semi-hydroponic setups, and closed pots. In these uses, activated carbon should be replaced every 3-6 months since it will eventually get saturated over time and not be able to absorb as much. You should also replace it when the water in the water reservoir becomes cloudy or smells.

We’d love you to laugh together with us at this joke entitled, “The Under-Five Discount.”

At his very first church service, a curious little boy watched closely as the ushers began passing around the offering plates. As the plate reached his family’s pew, he leaned toward his father and spoke—just loud enough for the nearby rows to hear.

“Don’t pay for me, Dad. I’m under five.”

?!

And now we have a heartline in Spanish, with multiple-language subtitles, from Valeria in Peru
